When it comes to choosing a pediatrician, we know you have a lot of choices. We are grateful that you are looking to entrust us with the health and well being of your child(ren). Before deciding on us, it is important that you understand some of our key policies and make sure that your priorities align with our philosophies.
We encourage you to review the information below before making a decision. It is important that we see eye to eye in order to form a mutually rewarding relationship.
Our vaccine policy follows the schedule outlined by the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics. We vaccinate our own children on schedule and expect the same of our families. We hold a firm stance on vaccination and it is imperative that you agree with our beliefs about protecting your children, your families and OUR community,
We work hard not to overuse antibiotics. We educate our families on the appropriate use of antibiotics and follow evidence-based guidelines. We don't automatically treat every runny nose or earache with antibiotics, nor do we routinely call in antibiotics over the phone. When antibiotics are the appropriate treatment option, we will be glad to answer your questions.
We work hard to provide comprehensive medical care and serve as your medical home; therefore, we expect that you contact our office FIRST before seeking specialty care or visiting an urgent care center. We will gladly direct you to the most appropriate place for care.
As your medical home we expect that you will contact us to discuss care plans before scheduling an appointment with a specialist. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office where appropriate, or referring you to the most appropriate specialist and helping coordinate your care. In order to stay informed and connected, we ask that you request a report from the specialist's office so we can coordinate all of the patient's care.
Our practice utilizes a variety of modern day technologies to effectively and efficiently communicate with our families. We strongly encourage the use of our patient portal to reach out to our clinic for appointment requests, follow up questions, billing inquires and general requests for information. We also use automated appointment reminders, routine call campaigns and various patient engagement tools to stay connected to our families and to expedite our office processes.
We make every effort to meet the needs of our patients, but sometimes the demand for immediate or same day appointments is greater than what our schedule can accommodate. Quality over quantity! We do not offer walk in hours and we are only open on Saturdays during the months of December through January. We encourage you to familiarize our office hours and be aware of our after hours services. You will have access to 24/7 care. Make sure these hours work for your family as we understand access to care can be a priority.
Our patients have access to care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When our clinic is not open, we offer access to 1st Call Triage, a team of highly trained and vastly experienced nurses who will help address health related concerns after hours. Patients will be given specific instructions on how to provide home care when appropriate and when it might be required to seek after hours care at an urgent care facility or emergency department. Callers are connected to our after hours service once our clinic closes at 5 PM and all weekend long.
We do not offer walk in hours. Please call our office to make an appointment or utilize our patient portal to request an office visit. It is important that you communicate all of your concerns so that we can schedule accordingly. If a sick concern is presented during a wellness check, it is possible that the wellness visit will be rescheduled as it is not always appropriate to do both.
We believe everyone's time is valuable so we ask that you make every effort to arrive to your appointment at the scheduled time, if not a few minutes early. If you are running behind, we ask that you reach out to us to let us know. Please be advised, if you arrive to the appointment 10 minutes after the scheduled time, you will be required to reschedule to the next available appointment.
Please make sure that we take your specific insurance plan. If there are any questions, call our office and/or check with your specific insurance company. You must be aware of in-network and out-of-network benefits and understand what you have.
It is up to you to understand how your insurance works, including deductibles, co-insurance and co-payments and to provide up-to-date insurance information at every visit. You must notify us if your insurance plan has changed and provide us with proof of insurance each time you visit our office. Know our policies.
