Mumps Outbreaks in North Texas

The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported two outbreaks of mumps in the Dallas area among both children and adults. Mumps is among the highly contagious diseases that can be spread from person to person. With the holiday season fully underway, such diseases can be easily passed with people in close contact with each other at airports, malls, schools, and such. Please make sure your child is up-to-date with all of his or her vaccines. It is important to their health and the health of everyone around them.
